2011 Summary of Fundraising Activities
All donations to the Penn State Dance Marathon are tax deductible. Our federal tax ID Number is 24-6000-376. Donations are processed by the Penn State Office of University Development, and donations will be receipted by the University.
The mission of the Penn State Dance Marathon is to conquer pediatric cancer by providing outstanding emotional and financial support to the children, families, researchers and staff of The Four Diamonds Fund.
The Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital is the sole beneficiary of THON’s fundraising activities. The THON Overall Chairperson is a member of The Four Diamonds Fund Advisory Board.
THON fully supports the mission of The Four Diamonds Fund, which is to conquer childhood cancer by assisting children treated at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital and their families through superior care, comprehensive support, and innovative research.
The following information is an official Summary of Fundraising Activities for the THON 2011 fiscal year, beginning July 1st, 2010 and ending June 30th, 2011. At year end, there was $14,483.00 in unfulfilled pledges; this is not included in the Total of Fundraising reported. As a notable difference from previous years, the profits from the THON Store are now the only thing being included in THON's own Summary of Fundraising, and the THON Store's expenses have been deducted directly from its own revenues. This change allows for a more accurate representation of THON's expenses and the proportion of its fundraising that it is able to ultimately donate directly to The Four Diamonds Fund.
