Administrative Assistant / Special Events Liaison (1)

The role of the Administrative Assistant / Special Events Liaison is to take minutes during the Overall Morale Committee meetings, post these minutes on Angel, and maintain the Angel website for the other captains to use. This individual will be responsible for sending out Morale Committee List-serves. This individual will also be responsible for the East Halls Dinner and organizing Morale’s role in the THON 5K race.

Color Wars Coordinator (1)

The role of the Color Wars Coordinator is to brainstorm, plan, and organize all of the Color Wars Events, both pre-THON and THON weekend. This individual will also update current events to better fit the enhanced space of the BJC, establish a rulebook, coordinating the Color Wars Kick-Off event, and getting dancers and moralers to get excited and involved in these events. The Color Wars Coordinator will work very closely with all members of the OMC, making sure that the logistics of the events provide a fair representation of all colors on the floor for the competitions.

Entertainment Liaison (1)

The role of the Entertainment Liaison is to work with the Logistics / Timeline Liaison for Morale, and the Morale Liaison for Entertainment. This individual is responsible for all of the videography for all Morale events and theme hours, and will get training from the Entertainment Liaison if needed. This individual will also work with Larry Moore to improve Morale events and ensure that they will succeed in the BJC.

Dancer Relations / Rules and Regulations Liaison (1)

The role of the Dancer Relations / Rules and Regulations Liaison is first to prepare the dancers for THON weekend by creating the Dancer Survival Guide and hosting Dancer Meetings where past dancers give feedback to make THON better for everyone. This individual also works closely with Rules and Regs to pair dancers and organizations by color, and then to make sure these dancers get paired to morale committee members. Coordinating Bryce Jordan Center tours for Captains and Committee members is also a very important role of this individual. Pre-THON dancer bags / t-shirt distribution is also another role of this Captain.

Family Relations Liaison (1)

The role of the Family Relations Liaison is to work closely with the Overall FR committee to ensure that everything Morale does during THON weekend is completely kid-friendly. This individual works with all members of the OMC to make sure that all morale’s theme hours, random events, and major events (Line dance, WALK, Mail Call) are events that the families can be involved in as well as the dancers. This individual is also responsible for organizing Kids’ Mail Call and designing and ordering Kids’ Mail Call shirts. This provides the Four Diamonds Families to get dancer-like treatment and a giant THON Thank You from the organizations and Penn State. This individual also coordinates the scheduling of Hershey Tours and Special Visitor’s trips for the OMC.

Intra-Committee Liaison / CCSG Liaison (1)

The role of the Intra-Committee Liaison / CCSG Liaison is to plan retreats for the OMC, brings energetic ideas to the table, and challenges the spirit level of morale so that it is always at its best. This individual is responsible for going to other Overall Committee meetings and spreading the morale sunshine to everyone. This individual is also in charge of the THON love box and collecting happy quarters. This Captain will also work closely with the CCSG Captains on the Communications committee to help them plan their Theme Hour, and to keep them involved in all Morale related events.

Line Dance Coordinator (1)

The role of the Line Dance Coordinator is to do just that: Coordinate the Line Dance. Along with this, this individual shares the responsibility of coordinating the Line Dance Retreat with the Intra-Committee Liaison. This Captain is in charge of facilitating brainstorming with the OMC, coordinating the music selection process, and working with Jeff and Larry Moore to understand beats and movement. Then, after the retreat, this individual works with Larry to run Line dance practices / teachings in the spring to teach the line dance to the OMC, the Overall THON Committee, all Captains, and Morale Committee members. This individual is also responsible for teaching the Line dance THON weekend, and leading the majority of the line dances throughout the weekend.

Logistics / Timeline Liaison (1)

The role of the Logistics / Timeline Liaison is responsible for meeting with the Timeline Captain, the Morale Entertainment Liaison, and Morale Liaison from the Entertainment Committee to schedule all of the Morale theme hours, random events, and large events (Line dance, WALK, Mail Call). This individual will also work with the Overall Morale Chair and Larry Moore to get event descriptions, Minute by Minutes, and Scripts for all of the OMC’s Events. This individual will also work with the OPP Liaison to decorate and coordinate the locker rooms.

Mail Call (2)

The role of the two Mail Call Captains is to collect, sort, and organize all dancer, captain, and overall mail. These Captains also publicize Mail Call and the process of sending mail for THON weekend, distribute the mail during THON weekend, and work on post-THON mail distribution. These Captains also work on building relationships with Don the Mailguy, Mike the Mailman, and Mr. McFeely.

Supply Logistics / Hospitality Liaison (1)

The role of the Supply & Logistics / Hospitality Liaison is to work with their liaison counterparts to request all the needs that morale requires. This individual will educate the OMC on how to request needs, input them into the THINK system, monitor their distribution, and obtains any extra needs from the Supply & Logistics and Hospitality Captains. This individual works very closely with everyone on the OMC, especially the WALK since they will require the most needs.

OPP Liaison (1)

The role of the OPP Liaison is to work very closely with the OPP committee via their Morale Liaison and continue to build on Morale’s relationship with them. From construction requests to the actual events taking place on the floor THON weekend, this individual oversees everything. Floor plans, feasibility and the enforcement of OPP rules for the BJC are among some of this Captain’s responsibilities. This individual will also work closely with the Logistics / Timeline Captain to decorate and coordinate the locker rooms.

WALK (3)

The role of the three WALK Captains is to create the magical, mystical world known as the WALK, while still protecting the integrity of the upper levels of the BJC. These individuals are responsible for coming up with a theme, requesting the needs, constructing the smaller projects (OPP will take care of the bigger construction requests), and promoting and coordinating three WALK’s during THON weekend: One for the kids, and two for the dancers. These three Captains will work very closely with each other, along with the other OMC.

Yellow Shirt Liaison (1)

The role of the Yellow Shirt Liaison is to be the yellow shining star to the morale committees. Throughout the pre-THON season, this individual is responsible for organizing and running the Yellow-Shirt Orientation and the Morale Pow-Wow. This Captain is also responsible for promoting and coordinating the two All-Morale Socials, and writing and producing the Yellow Shirt Survival Guide to help all the morale committees to better take care of their dancers throughout THON weekend.

**With the exception of Mail Call, WALK, Color Wars, and Logistics/Timeline + OPP pairings, each captain pair to be decided will be responsible for a Theme hour during THON weekend.

**Each captain pair will also be responsible for 1-2 random events to prepare fore an plan for THON weekend.
