When is THON?

THON Weekend is Friday, February 22nd through Sunday, February 24th. However, the hard work and spirit of THON is year round with different fundraising and family events taking place throughout the year.

How can I donate?

You can donate time or money to THON and we are always grateful for all the help that we receive. Please see our How to Donate page to learn more about donations and how and where to make them.

Where does my donation go?

When you donate to THON, you are really donating your money to The Four Diamonds Fund. This fund was set up to help children fighting cancer at the Hershey Medical Center. Most of the money donated goes directly to the families. The fund pays for what the medical insurance doesn’t cover as well as other expenses the families might endure as their child is receiving treatment. The rest of the money pays for the staff at the hospital such as doctors, nurses, social workers and child life specialist, and everyone that aids the families as they go through this battle. And last but not least donations also help fund research to help find a cure for pediatric cancer!

I wasn’t involved in THON while I was a student, can I help now?

Of course! We are always encouraging alumni to give back to Penn State, so why not help out one of the biggest events of the year! There are Alumni Chapters and a Dance Marathon Alumni Interest Group that raise money and host events to increase awareness and donate their time to THON all year round!
